About Eva Ingolf

Violinist Eva Ingolf comes from one of the leading musical families in Iceland. Her father, Ingólfur Guðbrandsson, premiered many great choral works in Iceland and six of her siblings are professional musicians who have made an important contribution to the quality of the musical life in the country. She began playing the violin at a very young age, gaining early recognition for her outstanding musical talent, including the beautiful tone and artistic interpretation of her playing.

After six years of studying at the Reykjavík College of Music, Ingolf left Iceland to study with some of Europe’s finest violin pedagogues. Her playing has been greatly influenced by the spirit of the Russian and Eastern European violin schools. At the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she was a student of Agustin Léon-Ara, followed by studies with Corrado Romano at the Conservatory of Geneva, and Istvan Parkanyi at the Sweelink Conservatory in Amsterdam. Throughout her career, Ingolf has given numerous solo recitals in well-known concert halls in Iceland, Japan, Russia, the United States, and Europe, including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Trinity Church in New York City, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
