Wayward Heroes by Halldór Laxness

Set against the backdrop of the medieval Norse world, Wayward Heroes is a reworking of Iceland’s ancient sagas complete with Viking raids and journeys to faraway lands. Written during the buildup to the Cold War, Laxness uses the novel as a vehicle to critique global militarism and belligerent national posturing.

Copies of Wayward Heroes will be available for purchase in the Shop at Scandinavia House after November 1, 2016.
