This summer, Scandinavia House presents the first season of Prisoners /Fangar, from Iceland’s Ragnar Bragason.

In this dark drama series, Linda is found guilty of viciously assaulting her father in an attack that leaves him in a coma, and sentenced to serve time in Iceland’s only women’s prison. As she struggles to adapt to her new environment, where appalling conditions show little signs of reform, her family members also face their own challenges in the wake of the scandal. But no one knows that there is a much darker secret behind Linda’s actions, one that could tear her family apart—a secret that could also set her free.

Prisoners impresses with production values that could rival many self-proclaimed high-end series in Europe, as well as a cast of cinema veterans and a multi-laureled creative team. On paper, the show’s pedigree is one that suggests a reach beyond the shores of the island nation.”—Variety

Scandinavia House will present the series over three presentations with two episodes each, on Wednesdays at 7 PM and repeating on Thursday matinees at 2:30 PM.
