Learn the Nordic languages this fall at Scandinavia House! This course is for newcomers to Swedish with a bit of prior exposure to the language. Students should come to the course with a basic knowledge of sentence structure, greetings, numbers, time and some simple vocabulary. This semester, students will explore how to buy and order things, talk about what they do in their spare time and read about an historical figure. In terms of grammar, they will learn new and more complicated tenses and learn how adjectives modify nouns. Various facets of Swedish life may be discussed during the course.
This class will take place as hybrid learning, with Tuesday sessions both online and in person at Scandinavia House and Thursday sessions online only. There will be no classes on October 30, November 5, November 26 and November 28.
