DESCRIPTION:Beginning in June\, we are collaborating with the streaming service Topic to bring you a taste of classic Nordic Noir! Topic will be launching every season of the series Follow the Money\, The Bridge and The Killing throughout the summer. Scandinavia House Online will give you a sneak peek of the first two episodes of each season before they hit Topic. Passes for each show comprise all season premiere episodes in the series; a Summer of Suspense TV pass comprise all premiere episodes of each series. Ticket sales will go to support Scandinavia House; all guests registered for the screenings will receive a promo code for 50% off of their first 3 months (1.5 months free) to Topic. \nA Nordic Noir classic\, The Bridge (Bron/Broen) follows Detective Saga Norén as she and her colleagues investigate a series of crimes committed around the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark. \n\nWhen a body is found on the bridge between Sweden and Denmark\, Saga Norén from Malmö and Martin Rohde from Copenhagen will begin a hunt for a sadistic killer that will change both detectives forever. In Season 1\, episodes 1 & 2\, when a woman’s body is found on Øresund Bridge—on the border of Sweden and Denmark — detectives Saga and Martin are sent to investigate; but soon they realize it’s not one murder\, but two. DESCRIPTION:Our popular Summer Jazz Series returns to Scandinavia House\, with live performances in Volvo Hall! This summer we’re presenting performances from some of Scandinavia’s most talented young jazz musicians\, composers\, and singers on Thursday evenings in June and July. \nThe series begins on June 24 with Eeppi Ursin Duo\, featuring Eeppi Ursin on vocals & piano and Olli Hirvonen on guitar. During the program\, the artists will perform original music from Ursin’s previous and upcoming albums as well as unique versions of well-known classics. \nVisitors to Scandinavia House are required to follow all safety protocol while on-site\, including wearing masks\, observing social distancing rules in signage\, and maintaining a six-foot distance from all persons present that are not within your party. Any guests who do not follow posted safety measures or instructions from security or staff will be asked to leave with no refund. Her versatile career has taken her all around the world performing as a vocal  soloist at prestigious venues with acclaimed artists such as trumpeter Leroy Jones and Spirit of  New Orleans\, Vocal Ensemble Club For Five\, and UMO Jazz Orchestra\, to name a few. Eeppi is  currently working on her fourth solo album to be released next year. When the COVID -19  pandemic hit\, Eeppi started a livestream concert series called “Love Boat” on her social media platforms and welcomes everybody to join them while waiting for her new album. \nOlli Hirvonen is a Finnish guitarist currently based in Brooklyn\, NY. Fluent in various styles from jazz to rock to more experimental sounds\, he has formed a highly unique style combining these different influences. Hirvonen was the winner of the 2016 Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition.
