DESCRIPTION:Join us on June 12 for a performance by jazz quartet Kaisa’s Machine\, featuring acclaimed Finnish bass player and ASF Fellow Kaisa Mäensivu with Max Light (guitar)\, Eden Ladin (piano)\, and Joe Peri (drums)! \nWith compositions ranging from bouncy to groovy\, to celebratory to existential\, Kaisa’s Machine was formed by Mäensivu in 2015\, and released the debut album In the Key of K in 2017. Now based in NYC\, the group has brought new players into its orbit\, and released the follow-up album Taking Shape with Greenleaf Music in 2023. With richly emotive and demanding writing\, Mäensivu’s music features a sense of story\, a sonic richness and surprise.
