SUMMARY:FELTED NESTING BOWLS | WORKSHOP WITH HILARY SNELL
DESCRIPTION:Create your own felted nesting bowls in this workshop series led by Scandinavia House’s veteran knitter Hilary Snell! \nIn this 4-part series\, participants will learn how to cast on and knit in the round on double pointed needles to make a small\, knitted bowl. The first class will focus on the basics of how to use double pointed needles\, and the following classes will be spent following a simple pattern. Once the knitting is done\, students will take the bowls home to wash and felt them into household art! \nMaterials needed: \n• 1-2 skeins of Cascade 220 yarn (2 skeins are necessary for a contrast stripe on the bowl; if not\, just 1 skein will do). Whatever yarn you buy\, it must be 100% wool\, worsted or thicker. \n• A set of No. 10 US double pointed needles (dpns) \nStudents must feel very comfortable knitting and be willing to stretch into a new skill using double pointed needles. Skills required: casting on\, knitting\, decreasing stitches\, casting off. Please note: this series cannot be taken as individual sessions and is best experienced as four progressive classes. \nPurchase Series Pass
