DESCRIPTION:Published 100 years ago\, Ole Rolvaag’s novel Giants in the Earth was the quintessential American immigrant story. Douglas Moore’s operatic setting won the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1951 but has remained largely unknown and never recorded. \nOn March 11\, join us for a program that surveys the rediscovery of this important American opera\, including excerpts from the opera sung by the two protagonists.
