A semi-satirical tale based on real-life Estonian startups, Chasing Unicorns follows Õie, a young book-keeper from a small town, who stumbles onto the tech scene in her native Estonia, a country where making startups  is a “national sport.” Joined by Tõnu — a serial failure whose companies have each gone bankrupt — and using Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg as her inspirations, she sets out on a journey to take on the male-dominated tech world and go after the dream of founding a unicorn startup.

Based on the experiences of more than 30 Estonian entrepreneurs whose real-life stories overlap with Õie’s fictional journey, Chasing Unicorns is directed by Rain Rannu, a former entrepreneur (founder, Fortumo).

Following the screening, Rain Rannu will be present for a Q&A.
