The Youth Choir of Tallinn Music High School visits Scandinavia House to celebrate 25 years of Estonian independence from the Soviet Union.

The evening’s program combines Estonian folk music with contemporary choral pieces by Estonian, Scandinavian, and American composers.

Co-presented with the Estonian Ministry of Culture.

About the Youth Choir of Tallinn Music High School

Led since 1992 by Ingrid Korvits and choirmaster Jaanika Kuusik, the Youth Choir of Tallinn Music High School encourages students from ages 13 to 20 to learn about and participate in choir performance in addition to their primary instrument studies. The choir has performed all over Estonia, as well as in Finland, Sweden, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Austria, Cyprus, England, Hungary, Greece, and Italy.

 

They have sung in all Estonian Song Celebrations and participated in many projects in cooperation with the Estonian Concert, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Estonian National Male Choir, the Pitea County (Sweden) Youth Choir and Youth Orchestra, Hannover Girls’ Choir, and Youth Choir Anima (U.S.).
