Now in its 10th year, the Kicking and Screening Film Festival returns to NYC at Scandinavia House, with an opening night presentation of Football For Better or Worse, directed by Inger Molin (Sweden, 2017). In its U.S. premiere, this poignant documentary follows FC Rosengård, one of the top women’s soccer teams, through a dramatic year of triumph and loss. Led by new sporting director Therese Sjögran and Brazilian star Marta, the club fights every day to lift the women’s game. But they also inherent challenges within the championship league, where female athletes receive a fraction of the payment offered to their male counterparts.

Director Inger Molin will be presenting a Q&A at the film, and we will also be screening the short film I Love Hooligans, by Jan Dirk Bouw.
