She has won several accolades for her work. Her first feature film\, All Is Forgiven\, won the Louis Delluc Prize for Best First Film in 2007.  Hansen-Løve’s film Father of My Children won the Special Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and Best Script at TIFF 2009. Her 2011 film A Love of Youth received special mentions at the Locarno International Film Festival 2011\, TIFF 2011\, and Telluride Film Festival 2011. \nIn 2014\, Hansen-Løve was awarded the status of Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 2016\, she won the Silver Bear for Best Director for her film Things to Come at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival\, as well as becoming a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.I n September 2018\, Hansen-Løve premiered Maya at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival as a part of the Special Presentations section.

Her feature film debut came in 2010 with the comedy Sykt Lykkelig (Happy\, happy)\, which was awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2011. \nHer second feature film followed shortly: The children’s drama Jørgen + Anne = Sant (Totally True Love) premiered at the 2011 Berlin International Film Festival\, opening the Generation Kplus programme that year\, with a great reception. The film was also a winner with Norwegian critics and audiences alike.
