Directed by Thomas Vinterberg (Denmark, 1998). Director Thomas Vinterberg trains his lens on the Danish bourgeoisie, capturing a divisive family drama as it unfolds within an old manor house, echoing the elegant dining and drawing rooms of Vilhelm Hammershøi’s turn-of-the century interior paintings.

About the director

Thomas Vinterberg (b. 1969) graduated from the Danish Film School in 1993; his graduation film Last Round/Sidste omgang was nominated for a student Oscar.
