Voyage to the Virtual combined video, animation, sculpture, light, and interactive media to invite viewers on expeditions to the far north.

The first Scandinavia House exhibition dedicated to digital, moving image, and light-based Nordic art, Voyage to the Virtual takes the metaphor of “the voyage”—a concept deeply rooted in Nordic identity—as a starting point for an exploration into the ways contemporary artists are expanding on the human perceptual experience. Combining video, animation, sculpture, light, and interactive media, the exhibition invites viewers on expeditions to the far north, travels through time and space, and perceptual journeys into the realm of the virtual.

The exhibition features the work of Katja Aglert, Elina Brotherus, A K Dolven, Olafur Eliasson, Jette Gejl Kristensen & Peter Møller-Nielsen, Petra Lindholm, Ann Lislegaard, Per Platou, Jacob Tækker, and Anders Weberg.

Voyage to the Virtual is curated by Tanya Toft, Curator and Ph.D. Fellow at Copenhagen University, and organized by The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF).
