Participants will explore Northern ornamental traditions through beadweaving\, translating symbolic patterns and storytelling elements into contemporary wearable art. \nThrough guided practice\, attendees will learn 1 to 3 beadweaving techniques and create an original jewelry piece such as earrings\, a bracelet\, or a pendant. In this class we will have a creative process where plant parts are coated in ink and pressed onto paper or fabric\, and will result in a direct\, mirrored\, highly detailed impression of the leaf’s organic veins and edges. During this class we will develop ideas and create our own artworks\, through getting to know the technique and take any artistic direction you would like. \nThis workshop is part of a 3-session series focused on printmaking using various mediums.
