Scandinavia House presents Saturday Art Workshops for children ages 5 and up. This spring, art workshops for kids explore themes related to our exhibition Nordic Impressions. Each workshop begins with a brief visit to the Gallery, followed by an art activity. Workshops include “Warm and Fuzzy: Mobile Making” (March 16); “Cut it Out: Collage Art” (March 23); and “Bird is the Word: Claymations” (March 30).

In today’s workshop, kids will see and be inspired by artist Nathalie Djurberg’s Birds, an installation of bird sculptures made of painted canvas, wire, and clay. After seeing the works, children will create their own whimsical wire and clay animation characters, and experiment with easy digital animation techniques.
