Independent Visions: Helene Schjerfbeck and Her Contemporaries

From the Collection of Ateneum, Finnish National Gallery. Fifty-five works by four celebrated female artists practicing in Finland during a period of cultural transformation. Join one of the two guided tours at 12:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

Start your day by crafting Finnish ornaments and dancing to musical games.

Born in Heinola/ Teit Meistä Kauniin
1 – 3 PM

A People’s Choice Award movie of 2016, directed by Tuukka Temonen (Finland, 2016), Born in Heinola is the story of a teenage rock band amid Finnish life in 1990s. The film will be followed by a meet-and-greet with Amanda Young, who is portrayed as one of the characters in the film.
