92 min. In Danish and Swedish with English subtitles.
Lily and Max have been married for more than 50 years. Now, they live together in a nursing home, where Max has been reliant on professional care since his stroke. Lily has been putting her own needs aside and is desperately longing for excitement and intimacy in her life. When a man known as “the Pilot” moves in next-door, he and his passion for life immediately charm Lily.
However, neither her family nor the other residents at the nursing home are fond of her new acquaintance. Misunderstood by her family and trapped in her life with Max, Lily decides to fight to escape the bars of her invisible prison and claim her freedom. Directed by Michael Noer (Denmark, 2015).
“Danish drama’s doughty doyenne Ghita Norby regally crowns her six-decade screen career in Michael Noer’s quietly effective tale of twilight-years romance, Key House Mirror (Nogl hus spejl)”—The Hollywood Reporter
About the director
Award-winning Danish director Michael Noer’s first feature film R (2010), co-directed by Tobias Lindholm, and the documentaries Vesterbro (2007) and The Wild Hearts (2008) has made him one of the most talented directors of his time. R won top awards at Göteborg and Mumbai plus several accolades at the two top annual Danish awards ceremonies Bodil and Robert.
For their work on the film, Noer and Lindholm received the Nordisk Film Award in 2010 and the Carl Th. Dreyer Award in 2011.
