92 min. In Norwegian with English subtitles.

Rebekka travels back to a hotel by the Norwegian fjords seeking revenge on the man who ruined her sister’s life. Traveling under a false identity, she arrives at an idyllic hotel situated in the majestic fjords of Western Norway. She is going to meet Morten Holand, the innkeeper and the town’s “Golden Boy”, with whom she shares a dark secret surrounding the death of her sister.

Fixated on plotting her revenge against Morten, Rebekka sets out to destroy his perfect family life, turning his friends and the townsfolk against him. Soon it becomes apparent that Rebekka’s actions have consequences for more than just Morten. As life in the village begins to unravel, Rebekka must determine how far she will go to seek revenge. Directed by Kjersti Steinsbø (Norway, 2016).

Hevn is an immediately gripping, psychological thriller.”—Toronto International Film Festival

“[Revenge] turns the male-dominated genre of revenge thriller on its head, taking no prisoners in the process.”—Culture Trip

“Set against the stunning yet eerie fjords of Western Norway, perfectly encapsulating the looming and unnerving atmosphere of the film, Hevn, much like its daring and determined protagonist, takes hold of its target,–the audience–, and is unrelenting until the final credits roll.”—Culture Trip
