New York, NY—The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) recently named 24 American Fellows to pursue research and creative arts projects in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) and 45 Scandinavian Fellows to conduct research and study in U.S. institutions for the 2024–25 academic year. Fellowships for American Fellows ranged from $1,725 to $23,000 for projects on a variety of subjects, including Architecture, Biology, Creative Writing, Earth Science, Folklore, Geography, Journalism, Photography, and Philosophy. Fellowships for Scandinavians ranged from $3,300 to $22,500 for various fields of study, including AI/Computer Science, Cardiology, Documentary Filmmaking, Education, Engineering, Environmental Science, Immunology, International Affairs, Public Health, and Wildlife Ecology.

Founded in 1912 and building upon ASF’s history as the first international non-government society designed to further educational and cultural exchange, the Fellowships & Grants program has been a cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission for over a century, making educational exchange between the United States and Nordic region possible at the highest level. Each year, ASF Fellowships continue to support academic scholarship and scientific research and help encourage expressions in the creative arts and music in the Nordic region.

This program is made possible by more than 30 ASF Endowment funds, as well as annual contributions by generous individuals and organizations, including Scandinavian Seminar and Norway House Foundation.
