Estonian a cappella ensemble Greip performs a concert from their repertoire of ballads, rock, and pop, as well as their own compositions that carry the history of Estonian folk music into the 21st century.

Co-presented by Consulate General of Estonia in New York.

About Greip

This Estonian five-member vocal group includes Karin Leetsar, soprano; Mari Holm, alto; Fred Rõigas, tenor; Rauno Muttik, baritone and beat-box; and Reimo Kiisk, bass. The ensemble experienced their breakthrough in 2011 with over 100,000 views in two days of their contemporary rendition of Vihma Loits, an Estonian folk song. They continue to be an Estonian YouTube sensation with currently over 430,000 views (the entire country of Estonia has only 1.3 million people meaning almost 1/3 of the population have seen this video).

In addition to being a Top 10 Finalist at a worldwide a cappella competition in Leipzig, Germany, Greip has won numerous vocal ensemble awards in Estonia, including being nominated for the Estonian Music Awards. They have performed throughout Germany, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
