The 2016 MATA Festival kicks off at Scandinavia House with the American debut performance of Norway’s genre-busting Ensemble neoN. Their vivacious program comprises works from six different countries, including a piece by Norwegian composer and Ensemble neoN member Jan Martin Smørdal.
Founded in 1996 by Philip Glass, Lisa Bielawa, and Eleonor Sandresky, the MATA Festival is a New York-based, annual, contemporary music festival devoted to championing the works of young composers.
