Our popular Nordic Summer Jazz Series returns to Scandinavia House, with performances from some of Scandinavia’s most talented jazz musicians, composers, and singers in Victor Borge Hall!

On June 23, join us for an evening with Swedish-Thai singer, composer and producer Sirintip. At Scandinavia House, she will present music from her upcoming EP, a personal work shaped by grief, memory, and transformation, interpreted through a contemporary jazz lens.

Nordic Summer Jazz will continue with more performances; see all upcoming shows here.

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN

Sirintip is a Swedish-Thai singer, composer, and producer based in New York, whose work is rooted in jazz improvisation and shaped by her intercultural life in Stockholm, Bangkok, and New York City.

She has released three critically acclaimed albums, including Carbon, named one of the Best Albums of 2022 by DownBeat, and has performed internationally as both a bandleader and collaborator, including touring with Snarky Puppy. Her work includes commissions by Nils Landgren and the Swedish Radio Jazz Group, as well as arranging for the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Symphony Orchestra. She was a finalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, opened for Wayne Shorter at the Polar Music Prize Talks, and performed on the opening night of Nobel Calling.

Her interdisciplinary work includes Mycelium, a large-scale project developed through collaboration with plankton and fungi scientists that reflects her broader practice of translating scientific systems into music. Committed to sustainability, she performs solar-powered concerts and prints bioplastic vinyl. Sirintip pushes boundaries, utilizing research as a creative engine to reimagine how art can connect us and the planet.
