On November 2, Scandinavia House presents a special screening and director talk featuring Sweden’s official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards: the thought-provoking black comedy Adult Supervision.

Arkipelag / Adult Supervision
Dir. Alex Schulman | Sweden, 2026 | 108 min
In Swedish with English subtitles

“A dose of charming chaos” – Anxiety-ridden father Bill (Gustaf Skarsgård) volunteers to chaperone his daughter and her school friends on a rowdy field trip to a remote island, desperate to repair their icy relationship. He is joined by two fellow fathers: the secretly domineering Bobo (Fares Fares) and lackadaisical Pontus (Linus Wahlgren), who takes a fancy to one of the camp counsellors. The men believe themselves to be up for the task of handling an unruly class. But tensions quickly escalate and their grip on the situation begins to slip. As buried memories resurface, games turn into power struggles — and power into violence. Soon, no one can tell: who is in charge, and who is in danger?

ADULT SUPERVISION is the feature directorial debut of Alex Schulman, one of Sweden’s best-known authors and co-host of the popular Alex & Sigges podcast. The film brings together three prominent Scandinavian actors, Gustaf Skarsgård (VIKINGS), Fares Fares (CHERNOBYL) and Linus Wahlgren (BÄCKSTRÖM), and had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest 2026.
