The Rules for Everything is a comedy about finding ways to live that correspond to impossible truths — that death comes for us all, and that all things are made up of atoms. Directed by Kim Hiorthøy (Norway, 2017).
About the Director
Kim Hiorthøy is an author, musician, visual artist and director. He was educated at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Fine Art (The Trondheim Academy of Fine Art) from 1991 to 1996, and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1999 to 2000. He also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1994.
In addition to releasing several records of his own music, illustrating both children’s books as well as record-covers for bands such as Motorpsycho and exhibiting his art, Hiorthøy also has an extensive experience as a cinematographer on shorts and feature films, as well as the writer and director of several music videos and short films of his own, and as the musician on short films and documentaries.
