The New Literature from Europe Festival returns to Scandinavia House this December. Featuring readings and discussions among leading and emerging literary voices from Europe, as well as some of America’s foremost writers and critics, the Festival celebrates important new European literature in translation.
Celebrate the close of the festival with a transformative reading. Travel across the continent as festival authors read a short piece in his or her own language alongside a projected English translation, transporting the audience across Europe through language. This very special reading features Colin Barrett, Cristian Crusat, Asle Skredderberget, Yoko Tawada, and Szczepan Twardoch. The reading will feature remarks by award-winning author Salman Rushdie. The MC for the evening is NLE President and translator, Sean Bye.
