Please join us on November 13 at Scandinavia House for a reception celebrating Reetta Ranta’s new book Timeless Nordic Rituals: Bringing Purpose and Joy to Modern Life.

Timeless Nordic Rituals explores how Finnish and Nordic traditions and sacred practices offer a deeply rooted yet modern way to reconnect with nature. The Nordic peoples have long lived in harmony with nature’s rhythms, practicing “open-air living” and embracing the Right to Roam, which grants free access to forests, lakes, meadows, and the wild herbs and foods they provide.

These traditions—woven into daily life through foraging, harvesting, and seasonal festivals—create a way of life, not just a pastime. This book provides practical, accessible rituals for daily life, seasonal transitions, and major life events, helping readers integrate mindfulness, sustainability, and sacred pauses into modern routines.

Ranta is also the author of Nordic Forest Rituals Oracle, an extensive tarot deck drawn from Finnish mythology and folklore. As part of this event, Ranta will be offering short, personal readings using the Nordic Forest Rituals oracle deck. Books and oracle decks will be available for purchase at the event.

Ranta’s book tour is supported by Finlandia Foundation National and REDFeather / Schiffer Publishing.
