Join us this fall for the festival West Nordic Film Days, a celebration of cinema from Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands! Screenings take place in Victor Borge Hall from October 9-11 and will include a range of acclaimed recent feature films, documentaries and shorts. Curated by Birgir Thor Møller, the selection of films at West Nordic Film Days reflects the current development and tendencies in West Nordic cinema as well as the diversity, combining films by prolific, prizewinning directors and upcoming filmmakers, who all live in and tell their stories from very different parts of the region.

Opening Night on Friday, October 9 will include screenings of the Faroese feature film The Last Paradise on Earth (Seinasta paradís á jørð, dir. Sakaris Stórá, 2025), followed by the Icelandic short film Blaðberinn (Paperboy, 2019, dir. Ninna Pálmadóttir) and and the Greenlandic short film Oqaluttuap Akia (The Price of a Story, dir. Lukáš Masner, 2024).

In The Last Paradise on Earth, a grieving young man desperately tries to hold together his fractured family and his own paradise in the Faroe Islands in a poignant and visually stunning small-town drama. In 2025 The Last Paradise on Earth premiered and became the first Faroese feature film ever to be nominated for the Nordic Council Film Prize — an award it furthermore won. In Blaðberinn, a small town paperboy has his world shaken when peers into his neighbor’s window and connects with a traumatized woman. And in the scenic short film Oqaluttuap Akia, a rich Czech tourist and an Inuit shaman (Angakkoq) meet to discuss a legendary encounter between their respective ancestors during the time of the first Christian missionaries in Greenland.
