Join us this fall for the festival West Nordic Film Days, a celebration of cinema from Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands! Screenings take place in Victor Borge Hall from October 9-11 and will include a range of acclaimed recent feature films, documentaries and shorts. Curated by Birgir Thor Møller, the selection of films at West Nordic Film Days reflects the current development and tendencies in West Nordic cinema as well as the diversity, combining films by prolific, prizewinning directors and upcoming filmmakers, who all live in and tell their stories from very different parts of the region.

The opening session on Saturday, October 10 will include screenings of the Greenlandic feature film Walls (Akinni Inuk, dir. Sakaris Stórá, 2025), followed by the Icelandic short film Selshamurinn (Sealskin, 2019, dir. Ninna Pálmadóttir) and the Faroese short film Faðir mín Faðir (Father, Oh Father, dir. Julia í Kálvalíð, 2024).

The Greenlandic documentary feature Walls follows Ruth Mikaelsen Jerimiassen, a woman who has been indefinitely incarcerated in Nuuk for attempted murder, who is given an opportunity for redemption when her case is opened for review. In Blaðberinn, when a lonely five-year-old girl senses her composer father is drowning in profound grief inside their isolated seaside home, she turns to a magical mythical folk tale to try and heal his sorrow. And in the poignant short film Faðir mín Faðir, a woman seeks out connection with her estranged father by taking his remains on a tour of her hometown.
