Beginning in June, we are collaborating with the streaming service Topic to bring you a taste of classic Nordic Noir! To launch the digital screenings of the Nordic Noir classic The Killing (Forbrydelsen) beginning August 5 (click here for details), we will be screening episodes 1 & 2 of the first season at Scandinavia House in Victor Borge Hall on August 5 at 7 PM ET.

The Killing (Forbrydelsen) is Nordic Noir defined. Follow the unprecedented Detective Sarah Lund as she takes on a series of complex murder cases, each with political implications, and watch as obsession consumes her. Season 1 kicks off with Detective Lund putting her retirement plans on hold when a young girl is found brutally murdered in a car linked to prominent politician Troels Hartmann. As she tracks the intricate web of suspects, Sarah becomes increasingly consumed by the case.

An RSVP to this event must be made in advance online at the link above. Attendees are required to follow all Scandinavia House safety protocols, including wearing masks at all times during the program and observing social distancing rules in signage. Please read our full safety protocols here.

Screenings of The Killing will also take place virtually with Season 1 (episodes 1 & 2) screening digitally from August 5-8, Season 2 (episodes 1 & 2) from August 12-15, and Season 3 (episodes 1 & 2) from August 19-22. All digital screenings take place over four days (Thursday — Sunday), with all films available for viewing on a virtual cinema screening platform throughout this period. Ticket sales will go to support Scandinavia House; all guests registered for the virtual screenings will receive a promo code for 50% off of their first 3 months (1.5 months free) to Topic. Click here for more details.
