My Name is Susan

June 14, 2022—7:00 pm9:00 pm

This June at Scandinavia House, see a live reading of the Scandinavian-American Theater Company’s new production My Name Is Susan /Jeg Hedder Bente. In a life-affirming story by Rikke Wölck about four women and their strong and loving friendship, at the age of 55, Susan is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Her group of girlfriends gather around her until her death, there to support Susan and each other through the tragic time, which gives them an opportunity to reflect on the lives they’ve lived and the choices they’ve made. Through laughter and tears, Susan’s diagnosis changes them all. (Directed by Jason Beckmann)

The performance will take place in Volvo Hall; attendees are required to follow all Scandinavia House safety protocols, including wearing masks during the program and observing social distancing rules in signage. Please read our full safety protocols here. ASF is committed to providing an environment free from harassment or discrimination in the treatment of individuals and does not permit harassment or discrimination in any forms (whether racial, sexual, religious, orientation or others) within our building.
